UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía, the company that is an expert in guidance, navigation and control solutions for UAS, has announced the development of advanced On-Screen Display (OSD) technology which improves the Primary Flight Display (PFD) of the flight control system to show first-person visualization to NATO CAT I & II UAS operators. This advancement has been designed so that it can be integrated with IP cameras and Visionair, the advanced mission planner of the Spanish autopilot and navigation systems manufacturer.
The new HUD (Heads-Up Display) technology provides UAV operators with enhanced situational awareness catering to both civil and military applications. By overlaying vital flight data on the live video stream, operators can make more informed and quicker decisions to maintain superior control over their UAV operations. The remote pilots will be able to estimate distances to other platforms, improving flight safety or getting bullseye precision during landings and other maneuvers and applications.
This significant improvement has been specifically designed and developed for our long-term client Primoco UAV, whose platform is in the process of acquiring the STANAG 4703 certification. This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering tailored solutions to our clients, listening to their needs and our commitment to meet the rigorous standards required for advanced UAV operations.
"Our experience with UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía has been exceptional," shared Ladislav Semetkovsky, CEO at Primoco UAV.
"The integration of the new OSD technology into our UAV fleet has significantly increased situational awareness of our operators and it presents another step towards safety standards typical for manned aviation. The development team's dedication to understanding our specific operational needs and delivering customized, cutting-edge solutions has been instrumental in optimizing our performance in challenging environments. We can confirm the new OSD concept is fully compliant with the applicable UAV certification standards."
"This latest advancement underscores our client-focused approach and dedication to flight safety while reinforcing our leadership in UAV innovation," said Miguel Ángel de Frutos, Director & CTO at UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía. "Our new OSD technology not only boosts the operational capabilities of UAVs but also markedly enhances the safety and efficiency of their missions."
