Safran Defense & Space, Inc. (Safran DSI) has been contracted by Bell Textron Inc. to supply flight testing solutions for six aircraft under the U.S. Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program. The package includes onboard and ground-based data acquisition, recording and analysis systems.
“FLRAA is a key development in the U.S. Army’s modernisation efforts and we are excited to contribute to this mission with our advanced flight-testing solutions,” says Andrei Gugiu, EVP Aerospace Instrumentation & Mission Systems for Testing & Telemetry at Safran DSI.
The Bell FLRAA is a tiltrotor aircraft designed to combine helicopter-like vertical takeoff and landing with the speed and range of a twin-turboprop. It is expected to be a key part of the Army’s future air mobility strategy.
Safran’s flight testing solutions will support the aircraft’s development and evaluation, ensuring accurate performance data throughout the program.
