Toyota to invest $500 million in Joby Aviation

Toyota engineers now work side-by-side with the Joby team in California, and, in 2023, the two companies signed a long-term agreement for Toyota to supply key powertrain and actuation components.

Joby chalks up landmark 523-mile hydrogen-electric flight

Using the same airframe as Joby’s battery-electric aircraft, the demonstrator has a fuel tank which stores up to 40 kilograms of liquid hydrogen, alongside a reduced mass of batteries.

Joby progresses flight test programme

Joby has tested its aircraft in flight, from precision landing and outwash to human factors, many times and in all weathers. Pre-production flight testing is complete and now the focus is on for-credit flight testing.
