Bombardier reveals new suppliers for Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets
Monday, 16 May 2011

Bombardier Aerospace today announced suppliers for two major structural packages and six systems for the Global 7000 and Global 8000 business aircraft program and identified some of the aircraft structural components that it will design and manufacture at its own facilities.

Four suppliers join the program along with General Electric Aviation, who was announced as the integrated propulsion system provider in October 2010. Aerolia, a division of EADS, will design and manufacture the centre fuselage. Hamilton Sundstrand, a United Technologies company, will provide the electrical system, auxiliary power unit and wing high-lift system. Intertechnique, a Zodiac Aerospace company, will provide the fuel system, fuel inerting system and oxygen system, and Triumph Aerostructures will design and manufacture the all-new high-speed transonic wing.

Electing to maintain design and manufacturing responsibility at its facilities for components that have a high degree of commonality with the existing Global aircraft family products, Bombardier also confirmed that it will design and manufacture the forward fuselage, aft fuselage and empennage for the two aircraft.

"The enthusiasm of these high quality suppliers is a testament to the forecasted success of the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft program," said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Progress on the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft development is accelerating rapidly, and we are very excited about bringing these aircraft to market."

"Today's announcement reaffirms the strength of our extended supply chain. We are thrilled about the commitment of these industry leaders and welcome them on board our new business aircraft program," said Janice L. Davis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, Bombardier Aerospace.
