Safe alternative to conventional paint strippers
Thursday, 24 August 2006

Developed as a safe alternative to Methylene Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide and other hazardous and/or traditional paint stripping methods, D-Zolve GL 15-33 from Solvent Kleene, Inc. is designed to remove several layers of paint from aircraft where clinging to horizontal and vertical surfaces is essential.

D-Zolve GL 15-33 dissolves the bond between paint and the surface, facilitating the removal of difficult to strip paints and coatings including epoxy primers with cross linked polyurethane top coats and powder coatings such as polyesters, epoxies, and polyurethanes. Once the surface bond is broken, both the paint and D-Zolve are easily removed with a high pressure water rinse. Because of  D-Zolve GL 15-33's excellent clinging properties, there is very little loss from roll off. Additionally, it is slow to evaporate so it is able to keep the painted surface moist for several hours, requiring little or no reapplication.

D-Zolve GL 15-33 meets Boeing D6-17487D and Air Force T.O. 1-1-8. With no chlorinated components or other carcinogens, D-Zolve GL 15-33 offers minimal or no air pollution potential and no hydrogen embrittlement. It is non-flammable and not subject to any DOT restrictions or special labeling. D-Zolve GL 15-33 works at room temperature or can be heated. It is designed to be applied with a spray gun or brush and is also available for in-tank parts immersion stripping.
