Bombardier has selected Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems' integrated braking system for the Global 7000 and Global 8000 business aircraft. The award consists of nose and main wheel carbon brakes and a fully integrated brake-by-wire automatic braking control system.
Bombardier announced the addition of the Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets to its existing Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft at the 2010 National Business Aviation Association's annual meeting and convention. The Global 7000 features a true four-zone cabin and will provide an extended range of 7,300 nm with ten passengers at Mach 0.85. The Global 8000 achieves a remarkable 7,900 nm range at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers. Both aircraft will be able to cruise at high speeds of Mach 0.90.
Ken Schwartz, Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems' President, commented: "This award confirms Bombardier's confidence in Meggitt, adding the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft to the diverse range of Bombardier aircraft programs incorporating our braking systems."
