PEI-Genesis, the franchised assembler and distributor of electronic connectors, has been approved to assemble Amphenol's SJT range of JN1003 multi-pin circular connectors for use on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
The approval process included exhaustive testing of the connectors assembled by PEI-Genesis to ensure that they satisfied all military requirements with regard to electrical performance and mechanical integrity under extreme conditions.
This development means that PEI-Genesis is now able to offer JN1003 connectors with its unrivalled 48-hour assembly service, which it achieves by carrying large stocks of piece-parts and using in-house developed machines to automate the connector assembly process.
Featuring a 100percent scoop-proof design, the JN1003 connectors use a quick-disconnect bayonet-lock coupling with rear-release removable crimp contacts. Shells are made from lightweight aluminium alloy, plated with olive drab cadmium over nickel, and the connectors have an operating temperature range of -55 to 175degC.
