Aerolia will set up its fuselage production site at Montreal-Mirabel airport
Wednesday, 19 June 2013

Aéroports de Montréal (ADM - Montreal airports) and Aerolia are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement in principle under the terms of which the worldwide specialist in equipped fuselage aerostructures will set up its first North-American factory in the industrial park of the international Montreal-Mirabel airport.

The agreement has an initial life of 15 years and has three extension options of five years each. Within the framework of this agreement, ADM will build and rent to Aerolia a tailored building that will meet its specific needs. From January 2014, the building extending across a surface area of 7,300 square meters will host the head office of Aerolia's Canadian subsidiary, as well as manufacturing workshops. On this site, the French company belonging to the EADS group will assemble in particular the equipped centre fuselage of the Global 7000 and 8000 business aircraft on behalf of Bombardier Aerospace.

"Settling in Montreal-Mirabel is very exciting, as this site will offer us an environment conducive to the success of the Aerolia group in Canada and its development in North America", said Marie-Agnès Veve, CEO of Aerolia Canada.

On ADM side, the agreement represents an investment of 9.5 million dollars that will lead to the creation of some 150 jobs in Montreal-Mirabel and strengthen the calling of this platform as a world- class aerospace hub. Let us remind that Montreal-Mirabel is already hosting several major players of the aerospace market, including Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney, L-3 MAS and Mecachrome.

"We are very proud to be associated with Aerolia and to have reached an agreement with this worldwide leader, which is favourable and promising for both of us", pointed out Charles A Gratton, Vice-President, Real Estate and Commercial Services.

"Through this innovative agreement, we experience a new type of partnership that will be possibly implemented for other industrial development projects in order to make their settlement in one of our airport platforms easier", he added.
