Dornier Seawings successfully rolled out the new Seastar to an audience of 250 people, comprised of company shareholders, suppliers and employees. The event marked the successful completion of a critical milestone in the Seastar development project between Dornier Seawings GmbH and Dornier Seawings China. Several speeches which were held throughout the event, highlighted a confident and optimistic outlook onto the future of the project and the ability to meet future milestones.

The formal event took place in the hangar of Dornier Seawings GmbH with a series of speeches, the Rollout, a demonstration flight of the original prototype of Dornier Seastar and finally finished with a seated dinner. Chinese shareholders from Wuxi attached great importance to the event and pledged continued support to the program and Seastar's development. Other prominent attendees included Mrs. Mao Jingqiu General Consul of the General Consulate of PR China of Munich, Germany, Mr. Georg Scheitz of the Landratsamt Starnberg, the General Manager of Bank of China in Munich, Mr. Yang Haiyong, as well as many key suppliers including Honeywell.

Dornier Seawings GmbH's CEO, Amy Pan, gave a moving speech about the importance the Rollout has played for the spirit and future of the company. Furthermore, she highlighted the technical improvements of the new Seastar which include "a newly developed full digital cockpitnew corrosion resistant landing gear with the addition of nose wheel steering, a new cabin layout equipped with an air conditioning system and finally new high efficient propellers." Mrs. Pan is confident that, "as the market in China opens up and develops further, the Seastar will be able to seize opportunities there and play a significant role in the general aviation industry on a global scale." These words confirm the larger efforts taken by the partners of Wuxi Government, Dornier Seawings China and Dornier Seawings GmbH, which see the Seastar as a cornerstone of development.

Not only company representatives see the Rollout of the Dornier Seastar as an event of marked importance. Mrs. Mao, General Consul in Munich, Germany stated in her speech; "The successful Rollout of Seastar Aircraft Project today is undoubtedly a milestone in the development of Dornier Seawings GmbH. At the same time, the success that Dornier Seawings GmbH has achieved, is of great significance to Sino-German economic cooperation. She believes that such cooperation on general aviation industry will become a new driving momentum for economies of both countries."

The Rollout marks a nice beginning for the company, the team in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany is already well underway working towards their next milestone deliverable, the first flight, which is scheduled for the first half of 2019. This will be followed by the Type Certificate in 2020.
