Dassault Aviation, a premier aircraft manufacturer that provides industry leading connectivity to its customers, has selected Gogo Business Aviation's latest inflight connectivity technology, Gogo AVANCE L5, to be a factory option on new production Falcon 2000S, 2000LXS, 900LX, 5X, 7X and 8X airframes.
Dassault plans to deliver the first production Falcon Jet equipped with Gogo AVANCE L5 from the factory later this year, and its certification efforts will also enable the installation of the system at Dassault-owned service centers.
Gogo AVANCE L5 operates on the Gogo Biz 4G air-to-ground network, delivering faster speeds and enhanced network capacity and enabling a more robust experience for activities such as live streaming video and audio, watching on-demand movies, using personal smartphones and accessing real-time data for the cabin. The Gogo Biz 4G network covers the lower 48 states and large portions of Canada and Alaska.
"Dassault's selection of Gogo AVANCE L5 is a great step forward with a valued partner who recognizes the value of our 4G network and the AVANCE platform," said Mark Sander, vice president of OEM sales for Gogo. "The Gogo AVANCE L5 is the next step in a product roadmap that will continue to provide leading communication solutions to the business aviation industry."
Gogo AVANCE is an innovative solution that pairs Gogo's advanced hardware solutions with leading software technology to facilitate a fully integrated, aviation-grade inflight connectivity and entertainment platform. The platform enables unprecedented connectivity for aviation technologies, services and applications. Gogo AVANCE is the heart of the company's new suite of platform-based products including its Smart Cabin systems – SCS Elite and SCE Media – as well as the Gogo AVANCE L5 system.
Created specifically for the business aviation market, the Gogo Biz 4G network is built on Gogo's existing ground network of more than 250 towers and fiber backhaul, which has provided connectivity for hundreds of thousands of flight hours aboard thousands of business and commercial aircraft. The AVANCE L5 equipment package will incorporate dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi service and a host of other features – all from a single box.
