Forward Vision System Inc.®, in conjunction with American Champion Aircraft, announced today at the Sun N Fun Fly-In, that the EVS-100 enhanced vision system will now be available on American Champion Aircraft product line.
Forward Vision's CEO and President Patrick Farrell stated, "We are very pleased that the American Champion Aircraft customers will now enjoy the additional level of safety and utility that our EVS-100 enhanced vision system offers. We're excited about the many applications for our system in the American Champion aircraft, and we're certain that American Champion customers will feel the same way". Farrell noted that -in addition to helping pilots "see" at night and in limited visibility conditions-using EVS has applications for American Champion in back country operations, fish and wildlife patrol, fire-spotting, and other special-use flights.
Jerry Mehlhaff, vice president of engineering for American Champion also is happy to be able to offer the EVS-100 to his customers. "Finally there is an economically feasible solution for American Champion owners and pilots to have the advantages provided by the EVS-100 enhanced vision systems. American Champion's airplanes are known for their utility, functionality, and value. The EVS-100 is yet another way to promote those values as well as safe operations for our customers." American Champion will begin offering the EVS-100 as an OEM option with a variety of display choices." In fixed wing and rotorcraft applications, pilots using this thermal imaging camera system are more likely to prevent runway incursions by: clearly identifying runways, taxiways, buildings, parked aircraft, and people while taxiing, taking off and landing during night time and low visibility.
