The news that Europa Aircraft has been party to an amicable takeover by Swift Technology Group has been welcomed by the stakeholders, and stirred excitement in the light aircraft and kit plane industry Worldwide.

Europa Aircraft has today announced exciting new plans for the future, which will see significant investment into Research and Development, delivery of a pro-active sales structure and dynamic marketing activity, together with significant product development.

Europa Aircraft is now part of Swift Technology Group, run by David Stanbridge. Europa was born out of a dream to build a small composite aeroplane with the ability to tour at high speed and low cost and while this remains the vision of the company, Europa is keen to use new innovations and technologies to improve and differentiate the product offering and increase market share.

The company will continue to run under the current management structure from the premises in Yorkshire. It will draw upon many years of experience from the existing Europa team and customers, all of whom are extremely positive about the plans and are looking forward to being a part of Europa's continuing journey.

Development has already started on further enhancements to the design of the Europa XS models, including modifications for the LSA market and finalisation of the Motorglider. This will be followed by the design and manufacture of a brand new composite plane – available in self build form or certified to CS-VLA.

Europa Aircraft is already one of the most successful kit plane suppliers in the UK, with the current models – Europa XS Trigear, Monowheel and Motor glider – gaining massive acclaim worldwide. There are over 700 Europa's flying in 33 countries and many more in the build process, which places it as one of the most popular brands in the kit plane arena. These plans will maintain its standing in the market and take it even further.
