Recently, Shanghai Fengfei Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fengfei Aviation Technology) released the flying video of its large vertical take-off and landing aircraft V400 Albatross for the first time. This model made its maiden flight in November 2019. In the past year, it has continuously improved its design and improved flight performance. It was launched globally at the World UAV Conference in September this year.
After the continuous upgrade and iteration of V400, it has carried out multiple flight tests at the flight base, and accumulated a certain amount of flight time and data. As an important model of Fengfei Aviation Technology's large-scale vertical take-off and landing aircraft, the V400 Albatross has a maximum take-off weight of 400 kg, a maximum load of 100 kg, an electric version with a maximum range of 300 km at full load, and a maximum range of 1000 km with the hybrid version, which can meet different requirements. V400 Albatross will be used in material transportation, fast logistics, medical rescue and fire emergency and other scenarios, and will play a great role in the "transportation" scenario. It has unique advantages in terms of time efficiency and economic cost.
According to Jiang Jun, senior vice president of Fengfei Aviation Technology, the V400 Albatross will participate in the operation of the island intelligent logistics demonstration area approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and perform air logistics transportation tasks between Jinshan and Zhoushan to create an island scene application for civil unmanned aviation.
At present, V400 Albatross has begun to receive orders, and it is expected to be delivered to customers in 3-6 months. This model has competitive advantages such as no runway for vertical take-off and landing, intelligent driving, large load, long endurance, etc. It is favoured by fire emergency response units and customers in special industries.
