Steadicopter is expanding applications for the BLACK EAGLE family of UAS to include homeland security, police, offshore and military ISR missions, the company announced at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
Exhibiting for the first time at IDEX, the company will highlight the capabilities of the lightweight unmanned robotic helicopter that enable it to meet the varied challenges of such applications. Steadicopter has recently signed several cooperation agreements with Israeli companies – among them Simplex, a developer of unique drone control technology, enabling operation of multiple drones beyond visual line of sight. The integration of Simplex' FlightOps.io Drone Operating system with the BLACK EAGLE will enhance the platform's autonomous operational capabilities, turning it into a smart, mission-aware robot that can operate in shared airspace, making smart autonomous decisions in real time and significantly increasing mission capabilities, efficiency and flight safety. It also allows the operation of multi-UAS in cooperation with other types of systems, sensors and unmanned aircraft performing collaborative complex missions. FlightOps' web-based ground control application provides an easy yet powerful multi-mission and multi-UAS control using a single operator.
"Recently, we launched the BLACK EAGLE 50E and BLACK EAGLE 25E, featuring electric propulsion, adapted for naval and ground forces missions," explained Noam Lidor, Sales and Marketing Director at Steadicopter. "We identified an immediate need for an unmanned platform that would provide mission flexibility. The BLACK EAGLE family now has open architecture that enables much-needed integration, in accordance with user requirements. In order to provide a comprehensive solution to our customers around the world, as well as addressing the specific needs in this region, we have carried out extensive collaborations, with the result that the BLACK EAGLE can already carry out a wide range of missions, including the use of the most advanced payloads.
