The Swedish eVTOL company Jetson AB released a new video of the Jetson ONE in action. This time the Jetson ONE can be seen flying over water in a personal aviation vehicle that does not require a pilot's license to fly. Jetson is a Swedish company founded by Peter Ternstrom and Tomasz Patan with a mission to change the way we travel. Jetson aims to make the skies available for everyone with it's safe personal electric aerial vehicle Jetson ONE.
"We hope Jetson ONE plays a role in changing public opinion on eVTOL." said Tomasz Patan co-founder and CTO. "We bridge the gap between sci-fi and reality and most importantly we do not show renderings, we have a working product."
The Jetson ONE might not be the only aircraft the company is working on. "I am often imagining a not too distant future where you would have a compact, car-like aerial vehicle transporting you across the big city in minutes instead of hours-this is an idea worth spending a large part of my life working on." said Tomasz.
Jetson is currently the only EVTOL company on the market that can provide a commercially available personal electric vehicle. The demand for the Jetson ONE has been phenomenal, supporting the company's dream to 'make everyone a pilot'.
Jetson says the Jetson ONE is the company's first step towards its mission to democratise flight.
"The Jetson ethos is all about beautifully simple solutions to air mobility and transportation. The Jetson ONE is our answer to fun and recreational flight. We can teach anyone to fly in less than five minutes. Our mission is to make everyone a pilot in a decade or so." said Peter Ternstrom, co-founder and President.
Jetson Aero have sold out their entire 2022 production. Since the official launch on the 21st of October 2021, another 242 units have been sold for 2023 delivery, with over 3,000 purchase requests during the same time period. The Jetson ONE official launch video made waves on the internet reaching over 14 million views on YouTube.
The Jetson ONE is constructed of a lightweight aluminium space frame and carbon-kevlar composite body. It is powered by eight electric motors, has a flight time of 20 minutes, reaching a top speed of 102 kilometres per hour (63 miles per hour). It runs on a high discharge lithium-ion battery and can carry a pilot's weight of 210 pounds 100kg.
"It takes just a few seconds to fold the Jetson ONE to 90cm width configuration. The one has been designed with real life practicality in mind. No other eVTOL offers this kind of ease of transport and storage convenience." said Tomasz Patan, co-founder and CTO.
The first exclusive buyers can expect to receive their Jetson ONE in the Autumn of 2022. The price for the Jetson ONE is $92,000 with a $22,000 deposit.
