Max-Viz opens up distribution for EVS Systems
Wednesday, 9 June 2010

Max-Viz®, Inc. announced today that its general aviation Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) will now be made available directly to Airframe OEMs, Avionic OEMs and Avionics and Repair Centers. These systems had previously been available to the general market only through an exclusive distributor.

Max-Viz Enhanced Vision Systems provide pilots with an affordable solution that "turns night into day®", improve visibility through dust, smoke or poor weather conditions and have been certified on more than 200 aircraft models.

The general aviation products are the EVS-600 (dual sensor, fused image of thermal background with visible runway & taxiway lights) and the EVS-100 (single sensor, thermal background). These systems come in a single, self contained, sealed, aerodynamic unit weighing less than 1.5 pounds (23 oz.).

The EVS-600 is available now on factory new Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft equipped with the Perspective Integrated Flight Display (EVS-600) and is expected to be available on new aircraft from other general aviation manufacturers before the end of the year. The EVS-600 and 100 are also available to existing aircraft using STC's that are available on all Cessna single engine piston aircraft, all legacy Cirrus aircraft, Piper Malibu, Meridian and Matrix and Robinson Helicopters. Other general aviation certifications in process include the Hawker Beechcraft Baron and Bonanzas and the Piper PA-18 Super Cub.

The MSRP in North America for the EVS-600 is $17,995 and for the EVS-100 is $14,995. Prices outside North America are higher due to export licensing, freight, etc. Final fly away price may be higher depending upon the cost of the installation kit, installation labor and standalone display requirements (if any).
