Piper Industrial Manufacturing Company (PIMCO), established last year, is making significant strides in quality and security within the aerospace and defense industries. Since its inception, PIMCO has achieved several key milestones and is actively pursuing more.
PIMCO has successfully completed Stage 1 of the AS9100 Rev D quality system certification audit, a globally recognized standard in the aerospace sector. The final Stage 2 audit is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. This certification underscores Piper’s commitment to high-quality products and services, building on its 87-year legacy in General Aviation and FAA compliance.
“AS9100 will not only open doors for PIMCO but also enhance quality across Piper,” said Stuart McSorley, Sr. Director of Production Compliance & Oversight at Piper Aircraft. “This achievement will improve customer experience and enable new partnerships in the aerospace and defense sectors, leveraging PIMCO’s machining and fabrication capabilities.”
PIMCO is also preparing for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0, which will take effect in early 2025. The Department of Defense (DoD) plans to include CMMC requirements in all solicitations issued on or after October 1, 2026, reinforcing the company’s commitment to robust cybersecurity measures.
PIMCO is dedicated to building strong relationships and infrastructure to ensure long-term success and meet the evolving needs of customers. These milestones highlight the company’s commitment to quality, delivery, cost-efficiency, and innovation in the aerospace and defense industries.
“We are proud of the advancements made since the formation of PIMCO last year,” stated Ron Gunnarson, VP of Sales, Marketing & Customer Support at Piper. “All of these efforts have contributed to developing a robust customer base, resulting in revenue figures that exceed initial projections. PIMCO’s rapid success is a testament to its strategic vision and operational excellence.”
