In 2023, ITP Aero increased its collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, by signing an agreement to manufacture combustors for the GTF engine family, leveraging the advanced capabilities and technologies of its Hucknall site, East Midlands, UK.
The delivery of the first combustor in the coming months will represent a significant achievement for ITP Aero and particularly for its Hucknall plant, which was integrated into the company in 2021. For Hucknall, a flagship center of British aeronautics, the integration into ITP Aero has led to a notable expansion and business diversification.
The dedicated team at ITP Aero has been diligently working to secure approvals and showcase production capabilities in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney. Drawing on their extensive design and manufacturing expertise, the team has developed innovative solutions to meet challenging deadlines.
The GTF programme at ITP Aero UK is progressing smoothly, to ensure a seamless transition into full-scale production by 2025.
Eva Azoulay, CEO of ITP Aero Group, said: "Last year, we finalized an agreement with Pratt & Whitney, expanding the reach of our operations in the UK. This marks a pivotal milestone in our strategic plan, leveraging our technologies and capabilities within the UK to drive business growth with a key customer”.
“Pratt & Whitney has had a successful collaboration with ITP Aero for over a decade,” said Dave Emmerling, vice president of Commercial Aftermarket & Partnerships at Pratt & Whitney. “Expanding ITP Aero’s support of the GTF program will ensure Pratt & Whitney meets the historic demand for this engine.”
