A government-supported Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance targeting overseas business opportunities was formed in September. On September 30, Oklahoma's Cabinet Secretary of Energy and Environment Ken McQueen led representatives from more than ten UAV-related manufacturers from the State's defense industry association to Taiwan, and good news soon came out.
The Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance Chairman Moudy Hu and the Oklahoma Defense Industry Association Executive Director Allyson Carson signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Taipei. Chih-Chin Yang, the Director General of Industrial Development Administration of Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Ken McQueen, Oklahoma's Cabinet Secretary of Energy and Environment, served as witnesses.
The two parties have reached a consensus that in the future an industrial cooperation and exchange platform will be established to enhance the technology and global competitiveness of both parties in the field of drones; they will also participate in each other's international business plans and promote joint marketing of drones. Chairman Hu, who is also the Chairman of AIDC, said that this cooperation is the best opportunity for the alliance to grow rapidly. He will seize the opportunity to create cross-border exchanges. AIDC will also serve as the contact window to win business from the international community and help promote the alliance members in the international market.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs is very supportive of the development of the domestic UAV industry. Even before the alliance was established, it had provided relevant information to the State of Oklahoma. Later, the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Houston made an invitation, thus facilitating the Oklahoma delegation’s trip to Taiwan. In addition to the formal alliance, the delegation will also visit the Civil Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Coretronic Corporation, AIDC, etc., and go to Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center to visit drone manufacturers.
