VRCO has selected Aspen Avionics to provide the avionics for its luxury VTOL, including next-generation display systems, GPS, and other sensor technologies as well as avionics integration services. The Xcraft is scheduled for certification in 2026.
"The proven versatility of Aspen's avionics display strategies and sensor technology among fixed wing, rotary wing and now, the next generation of personal, multi-use vehicles is evidence of the company's flexibility and innovative mindset to provide avionics technology across various aviation platforms," says John Uczekaj, president and CEO of Aspen Avionics. "We are very confident this partnership with VRCO will further reveal unrealized opportunities to develop new avionics technologies for our core audience, general aviation.
"The Xcraft is a high-end supercar of the skies being supplied to discerning buyers worldwide where ergonomics, ease of use and a seamless interior of luxury and style is paramount. The unique collaboration with Aspen has allowed us to work closely together to create a high end craft-specific system our customers expect, while at the same time incorporating several novel and safety-specific features and sensors," says Michael Smith VRCO CEO.
"The collaboration between Aspen Avionics and VRCO, both AIRO Group companies, is a prime example of how we leverage our pedigree and Urban Air Logistics ecosystem to foster both innovation and opportunity for our clients, shareholders, and member companies," says Joe Burns, The AIRO Group Chief Executive Officer. Aspen Avionics' successful track record of cockpit technology certification along with VRCO's portfolio of vehicles is an optimal match that will propel the entire VTOL market onward and upward with certifiable vehicles and avionics."
