Schaeffler and flying car company Xiaopeng Huitian have signed a cooperation agreement on the mass production of flying car power in Guangzhou. The two parties will cooperate in the mass production of flying motor stator and rotor assemblies, and work together to usher in a new era of low-altitude economy. This cooperation shows that Schaeffler's product range has expanded to the field of flying cars, laying the foundation for future business development in the low-altitude aircraft industry.
According to the agreement, Schaeffler will provide the core components of flying electric drive, the stator and rotor assembly of the motor, for Xiaopeng Huitian's latest "land aircraft carrier" split flying car. As the power system of flying cars, flying electric drive has extremely high requirements for safety, reliability and lightweight. Schaeffler's rich expertise, product development and mass production experience in the fields of aerospace and automotive electric drive have played a key role in supporting customers to build efficient and reliable electric drive systems.
Wen Haoding, President of Schaeffler China Industrial Business Group, says: "As a new type of transportation, flying cars combine the product features of both aviation and automobile fields. Schaeffler is an experienced technical expert in both the aerospace and automotive fields. Combining these two capabilities creates a unique advantage for us to serve flying car customers. We will give full play to this advantage and help Xiaopeng Huitian achieve business success."
In the field of aerospace, Schaeffler Group has nearly 100 years of experience in product development and production, providing high-end customized products for world-renowned aerospace customers. Schaeffler not only has Nadcap certification (the certification of special products and processes of the aerospace industry by the US aerospace and defense industry), but also has passed AS9100D aerospace quality certification. In the field of automotive electric drive, Schaeffler also has excellent system capabilities and a rich product portfolio, providing comprehensive solutions from motors, electronic controls, gearboxes to complete electric drive systems. In addition, with its long-term accumulation in industrialization and vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities, Schaeffler can quickly respond to customer needs with superb quality and extreme costs.
Xiaopeng Huitian is an ecological enterprise of Xiaopeng Motors, a smart electric vehicle company. As a pioneer in the field of low-altitude economy, Xiaopeng Huitian is committed to creating safe and intelligent flying cars and other low-altitude travel products for users through technological innovation and product innovation. As a split flying car for individual consumers, the "Land Aircraft Carrier" has attracted widespread attention from the market as soon as it was released. It won more than 2,000 orders at the China Air Show held in November this year alone. At present, the "Land Aircraft Carrier" has successfully completed the world's first manned flight, and pre-sales for individual consumers are about to start, and mass production and delivery are expected to begin in 2026.
Zhao Deli, founder and president of Xiaopeng Huitian, says: "As a new industry, the low-altitude economy has shown great development potential. Schaeffler has a very strategic vision and is optimistic about this track and has made arrangements in advance. By integrating the most advanced technologies in the aerospace and automotive fields, it has joined Huitian's product research and development. Our cooperation in the field of flight power will give full play to each other's advantages and jointly promote the rapid development of new quality productivity."
"Xpeng Huitian is a representative company in the field of low-altitude economy. We are very pleased to establish a cooperative relationship with Xiaopeng Huitian and support it in developing safe and reliable flying cars." Dr. Zhang Yilin, CEO of Schaeffler China, says, "As a technology company focusing on drive technology, we hope to give full play to our innovative capabilities and technological advantages in the field of drive technology, provide customers with innovative products and high-quality services, and work together to promote the commercial development of the low-altitude economy."
