New concept Versa-Pure point-of-use aircraft water filter/purification systems
Tuesday, 8 March 2011

General Ecology's Versa-Pure® "QC" aircraft potable water systems eliminate tank type, stainless steel pressure vessels, V-clamps and other complexities allowing lighter weight, smaller footprint, point-of-use installations. Long term, "QC" on-going cost savings evolve from convenience, significant weight reduction, installation flexibility and much lower maintenance costs for many years ahead. Distribution system sanitization costs are reduced by 50+%.

Versa-Pure canisters, hand turned into small stainless steel "interface" units installed at desired service points. With automatic venting and vacuum breaks, water supplies are turned off and on automatically as automatic vacuum break, self venting canisters are removed and replaced. In-flight and "on-demand" replacements appear feasible.

All canisters are interchangeable among all interface units allowing quick and easy optimization of flow rates and treatment to route/service requirements. For example, water heating devices including coffee makers and steamers can malfunction from accumulated scale in high calcium areas. Versa-Pure SCQC canisters are available to control scale formations, remove chlorine resistant Crypto, foul tastes and odors and debris above 3 microns in size. RSQC canisters can remove all three types of water-borne enteric pathogens along with foul tastes and odors and debris at the submicron level. TOQC minimize costs for simple, extended-term dechlorination at minimum pressures.

For the first time, two canister sizes are available (-2 size for galleys and other high flow/maximum capacity needs and -1 size for lavatories and fountains where flow restricting faucets are installed to conserve water usage). Please contact General Ecology for selection guide.

General Ecology's Versa-Pure AC2 and AC3 systems, well established, reliable and effective are in use worldwide. Versa-Pure QC systems are General Ecology's latest development providing even better value and convenient installations, particularly for new aircraft programs and completion center applications. Detailed characteristics of all three canister types and inlet/out port characteristics are included in the selection guide. Certification assist data are available. All products are manufactured and assembled in USA. U.S. and international patents are pending.
