M.C. Gill Corporation has been awarded a long term contract by United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) to supply aircraft cargo flooring for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
UTAS (formerly known as Goodrich Corporation) is located in Jamestown, ND. The UTAS contract includes 68 parts utilized in the cargo bay flooring of B787 aircraft. M.C. Gill Corporation manufacturers the detailed floor panels from Gillfab™ 4809 – a unidirectional carbon reinforced epoxy facings/Kevlar™ N636 core product that is qualified to Boeing specification BMS 4-20. M.C. Gill Corporation will manufacture, fabricate and finish the panels providing a drop-in part that will significantly reduce internal costs for UTAS.
Upon confirmation of the award Stephen Gill; Chairman and CEO, said "For over 40 years we've been making raw stock floor panels and now we're very excited to be fabricating them for final assembly in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program."
