Fokker Elmo, a business unit of Fokker Technologies, has been selected by Boeing for the manufacturing of an additional Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) package for the 777 aircraft series.
Fokker Elmo is already a long term supplier for Boeing Commercial Aircraft with 777 and 737 EWIS packages. The new contract confirms Fokker Elmo's position as a strategic EWIS supplier to Boeing. The manufacturing activities have been started in the beginning of this year and are supported by the Fokker Elmo teams in The Netherlands and China facilities.
Fokker Elmo Vice President Marketing & Sales, Mr. Adriaan Leyte stated: “We are truly excited about expanding our strategic relationship with Boeing. We are proud to be part of the Boeing tradition of aerospace leadership and delighted to contribute to one of the most popular aircraft programs in the world.“
In addition to the new contract, The Boeing Company awarded Fokker Elmo with the Boeing Performance Excellence Award 2012. This award is issued annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved an outstanding performance. Fokker Elmo maintained a composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period, from October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.
Fokker Elmo's order portfolio further includes an extensive range of commercial and military aircraft and engines. The excellent delivery and quality performance of Fokker Elmo is backed up by the proprietary Wiring Design and Manufacturing System, which provides a unique and innovative toolset to support aircraft manufacturers worldwide.
