Unitech Composites, an AGC Aerospace & Defense Company, has been awarded a contract from Spirit AeroSystems to produce wing assembly parts for the Boeing 787 aircraft.
“We are pleased to participate in this key Spirit AeroSystems program to produce high quality products for the Boeing 787,” stated Unitech General Manager, Tim Shuburg. “We look forward to applying our unique capabilities and processes to meet the needs of this and other programs.”
The flex skirts and doors are assembled for the lower-aft surface of the wing slats. The purpose of the skirts and doors are to facilitate a flexible interface for the dynamic exchange between the slat and the fixed leading edge of the wing.
Unitech Composites designs and manufactures composite structures in commercial and military aerospace markets. The company maintains continued commitment to innovation, quality, and flexibility towards the requirements of individual airlines and OEMs. Unitech operates within the Composites & Aerostructures Group of AGC Aerospace & Defense.
