Tactair Fluid Controls, a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of hydraulic and pneumatic components, is providing the emergency park brake valve and accumulators for the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano. The A-29 has been selected by the U.S. Air Force for its Light Air Support program. The new platform is being provided in partnership by the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) and Embraer Defense & Security, and will be built in Jacksonville, Florida.
Tactair engineered emergency park brake valves are specifically designed to be actuated manually via a lever or cable quadrant. Emergency park brake valves feature single or dual gain braking curves, pressure sensing and an integrated parking function. Tactair emergency park brake valves provide an alternate method of maintaining brake pressure upon a failure of the main system and in park mode, will provide constant parking brake pressure. Typically, the emergency park brake valve is paired with a Tactair designed hydraulic accumulator to provide emergency brake pressure and volume compensation when in park mode.
