Airbus has already confirmed that production of Internals of section 19 for the A350 XWB has been awarded to Aries Estructuras Aeroespaciales (ARESA). Therefore, the Spanish enterprise will take more part in the European manufacturer recent project.
This new pack for ARESA consolidates the participation of ACITURRI AERONÁUTICA and ARIES in A350 because the firm from Castilla y León is also responsible for design and manufacturing of the vertical tail plane (VTP) for this Programme. The announcement confirms, likewise, ACITURRI and ARIES as first tier suppliers of AIRBUS for its main programmes: A318/A319/A320/A321, A330, A340, A380 and A400M.
This current contract, to be started in 2010, could turn over more than 600 million euros for the next years and shall achieve 50 million euros of additional annual turnover.
This work will allow to create up to 350 new jobs, including direct and indirect jobs for all the company departments: development and manufacturing engineering and manufacturing and assembly. Internals of Section 19 are to be produced at the facilities in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), Boecillo Industrial Park (Valladolid) and Tres Cantos (Madrid). The parts shall be finally assembled at the AIRBUS premises in Getafe.
Section 19 of A350 XWB is the area where the aircraft fuselage and the vertical and horizontal tail planes are joined. This contract implies the production of elements made of different technologies led by the ACITURRI AERONÁUTICA firms: machining of light alloys (Aluminium, Titanium alloys) and up-to-date composite manufacturing technologies. The structure of this section for the A350 XWB fuselage combines components from basic technological solutions with the latest materials, which increases ACITURRI experience and leadership in design, development, production and assembly of aerostructures.
It is the first contract awarded by AIRBUS to an ACITURRI AERONÁUTICA enterprise since the group acquired most of the share capital of Aries Complex, Aresa and Acta Tecnología Aeroespacial at the end of the last year. Therefore, it confirms the company to lead the progress in aeronautics in Castilla y León.
