Ducommun Incorporated (NYSE: DCO) today announced that its Ducommun AeroStructures, Inc. (DAS) subsidiary has been awarded a contract for the tailcone and fuselage doors on Embraer's recently announced Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 executive jets. The DAS contract is valued in excess of $100 million at currently anticipated build rates. These assemblies will be manufactured at Ducommun's facilities in Southern California, Kansas, and Mexico. Ducommun's manufacturing teams are working closely with Embraer's engineering group to develop related tooling and manufacturing processes.
Embraer is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial jets up to 120 seats, currently producing the ERJ 145 family of regional jets and the EMBRAER 170/190 family of commercial jets – the E-Jets, with around 1,500 aircraft delivered since 1996, worldwide. The Company is also one of the main business jet players in the world, with a portfolio of six aircraft, including the new midlight Legacy 450 and the midsize Legacy 500, with ranges of 2,300 and 3,000 nautical miles, respectively.
