Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) announced on Tuesday they have signed a contract with Subaru (Japan) to continue to supply B787 Sec.11 (centre wing box) components from 2022 till the end of aircraft termination.
KAI started this program from 2005 as the exclusive supplier and this contract is worth approximately $754 million USD (900 billion-won) between 2022-2038 based on current exchange rate.
B787 seats 250-350 passenger aircraft and it is one of the best seller aircrafts delivering more than 970 aircrafts to airlines from 2011. It is also known as 'Dreamliner'.
The company said, "KAI have built strong partnership with Subaru since 2005. We are rated high for its engineering capability and quality from the customer and it led us to sign the contract. KAI is aiming zero quality defect to be the global partner."
