The latest addition to the Dassault Aviation family is unveiled to the general public today, an important event for the activities of Sabca. Several crucial parts of the Falcon 6X will be manufactured by the company, which will generate employment at its sites in Brussels, Lummen and Casablanca in the coming years.
The Falcon F6X is a latest-generation business jet that can accommodate 16 passengers on board and has a range of 10,000 kilometres. This new aircraft is based on the Falcon 5X, with a longer fuselage and new engines. Its first flight is scheduled for 2021 and will begin deliveries in 2022.
Sabca builds one of the ultra-modern aircraft's fuel tanks at its Brussels factory. Composed of 1500 parts, this structure was designed in cooperation with Dassault and is manufactured entirely by Sabca. The tank has a capacity of 4500 litres and will be equipped with all the necessary components such as pumps, steering, meters and wiring. Dassault Aviation will be able to integrate it according to the "plug & fly" principle. In addition to this complex structure, Sabca is also responsible for the production of essential sub-contracted parts such as fuselage components and composite structures for the aircraft's tail, produced respectively in its Casablanca and Lummen facilities. The project provides at least 50 direct jobs.
"Sabca is very proud of this cooperation and would like to thank Dassault Aviation for its confidence. We are looking forward to seeing the aircraft in the sky and congratulate them on the inauguration," says Thibauld Jongen, CEO of Sabca.
