Zim Aircraft Seating, known for its world-leading development, design, and manufacture of aircraft seats, is supplying the premium eco seats for Air New Zealand's innovative new cabin concept. From 2024, the New Zealand airline aims to offer long-haul customers the best possible sleeping experience with the redesigned cabin of its Boeing 787-9 "Dreamliner" fleet. The concept includes five different comfort classes.
More privacy and protected space where you can recline at leisure without interrupting the person behind – that's how Air New Zealand describes the new premium eco cabin. An important part of this experience are the seats from Zim Aircraft Seating.
Thanks to its highly innovative seat features, the ZIMprivacy sets new standards for comfort and privacy and brings business class comfort to the Premium Economy class. It allows for healthier and more functional sitting positions and includes a variety of other amneties such as wireless charging, personal reading light and ambient mood light. With its generous storage space and large table passengers can both work and relax during their flight. In addition, the fixed seatback shell design enables a passenger experience without taking up valuable cabin space.
"We are very pleased that Air New Zealand has chosen our premium eco seat," said Sven Achilles, CEO of Zim Aircraft Seating. “We also see this as recognition of our efforts to develop innovative aviation solutions that allow airlines to offer significantly increased comfort while optimizing space and reducing the cost of operations.”
