TITAL GmbH located in Bestwig, Germany has established itself as a supplier for engine manufacturers. For the last 10 years the German investment casting specialist has delivered ten different titanium parts for the Eurofighter EJ200 engine. At the same time the internationally operating company has gradually extended its activities in the aerospace sector. Philipp Jerusalem, Director Sales and Marketing: "We see our biggest growth potential in the next ten years in the engine sector and with our strong partners from the aerospace industry we want to continuously expand this segment."

TITAL delivers Eurofighter engine components to Rolls Royce (England), AVIO (Italy) and ITP (Spain) which produce different sections of the engine. Every year TITAL produces investment castings for more than 120 EJ 200 engines with dimensions of up to 500 mm (20"). Some structural components for the Eurofighter engine are made of titanium investment castings and are delivered fully machined to the customers. The machined complete products can go directly to the customers' assembly area. Philipp Jerusalem: „The Eurofighter commitment is a very important project for us and we are optimistic that the project is secured by export orders beyond the year 2014." The Eurofighter is currently delivered to Germany, Italy, Spain, England and Austria. Potential future customers are India and Switzerland.

Parallel to the Eurofighter commitment, TITAL is seeing positive business developments in the engine sector. Currently the investment casting specialist casts, machines and assembles titanium castings for the M88 engine which is used in the supersonic transport Rafale manufactured by the French company Dassault. Also TITAL is certified for machining and assembly of castings for the GE90 engine family for SNECMA the French manufacturer. SNECMA delivers a substantial share of components for General Electrics GE90 engine. The GE90 engines are produced for the long distance aircraft Boeing 777.

In the spring of 2010 TITAL has also made the first steps into the Russian engine market. Overall 15 investment castings from TITAL will be built into the Sam146 engine. More large and complex components for the SaM146 are to follow. TITAL's aim is to extend its position as a supplier for large titanium and aluminum investment castings in Russia.

In order to ensure sufficient production capacities for orders in the new business segment, TITAL has put its new casting facility into operation at the end of 2008. This enables the production of large complex titanium investment castings with dimensions of up to 1.500 mm (60") and a weight of up to 300 kg (660 lbs). TITAL's investment for this modern casting furnace was in excess of 10 million Euros.
