Embraer Defense and Security, based in São José dos Campos, Brazil, has selected Liebherr-Aerospace in February 2012 to provide the bleed controller and bleed valves for the KC-390 military transport aircraft.
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, France, center of excellence for air management systems within the Liebherr Group, will develop and manufacture the system that will feature integrated control architecture together with high-reliability, high-performance, lightweight pneumatic and mechanical components.
This latest-generation bleed system features the most advanced compact electro-pneumatic bleed technology that has gained an unmatched experience in operation on a wide array of aircraft models across the world. It provides high reliability, optimized safety and comfort conditions as well as proven robustness under all demanding operating conditions.
The integration into the aircraft and the system-performances will be further strengthened by the dedicated test rig that will be set up at Liebherr-Aerospace's recently opened world-class test center for aerospace air management systems in Toulouse.
This new partnership in the defense and security area further expands the already long lasting relationship between Embraer and Liebherr-Aerospace.
