Fokker Elmo, a Stork Aerospace company has signed a contract with Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace to design and supply the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System for the new CSeries* aircraft family. The associated design and production work is expected to represent a value of approximately $300 million, spread over a 15 to 20 multi year period.

The CSeries family of aircraft is specifically designed by Bombardier for the 100- to 149- seat market. The aircraft will offer superior operating economics, operational flexibility and reduced environmental impact. The new Bombardier aircraft family is targeted for an entry to service in 2013. The Canadian aircraft manufacturer has received 30 firm orders, from Lufthansa Group. Lufthansa has also taken options on an additional 30 CSeries aircraft.

Within the CSeries aircraft program Fokker Elmo will be responsible for the design and production of the entire Wiring and Interconnection System. Additionally Fokker Elmo will provide all the design and production of all Flight Test and Instrumentation wiring required during the certification of the CSeries aircraft. The majority of the design and development effort will take place on-site at Bombardier in Montreal, manufacturing of development and flight test wiring systems will be performed at Fokker Elmo Netherlands, while the serial production is scheduled to be executed at Fokker Elmo China.
