thyssenkrupp Aerospace India secures long-term contract with Dynamatic Technologies for A220 program
Wednesday, 24 July 2024

thyssenkrupp Aerospace India, the first materials distribution and service provider for the aerospace and defense industry in India and part of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, has been awarded a long- term contract by Dynamatic Technologies for the Airbus A220 program. This agreement further reinforces the strategic cooperation and heralds a new chapter in the collaboration between the two companies, focusing on material supply and comprehensive supply chain management services.

Under this long-term agreement, thyssenkrupp Aerospace India will manage the supply chain for raw materials, warehousing, and processing services for Dynamatic Technologies’ facilities in India. The primary product group covered under this contract includes aluminum, steel and titanium products, which will be serviced from thyssenkrupp Aerospace India's local site in Bangalore. The products will be supplied in various shapes and sizes to meet the precise needs of Dynamatic Technologies, ensuring just-in-time delivery to their manufacturing facilities.

To enhance the partnership and support Dynamatic Technologies' operations, thyssenkrupp Aerospace India is making substantial investments in its local infrastructure. This includes the expansion of their current site in India with an additional state-of-the-art warehouse. The investment is designed to support the growth of both companies. The planned addition to the existing warehouse of 3,900 square metres will allow for an increase in material storage from 1,500 tons up to 4,500 tons, and for the installation of up to four additional plate saws and two additional bar saws to support the expansion of the Indian aerospace market.

A key component of this partnership is the mutual commitment to digitalize significant parts of the supply chain, aiming to increase visibility and resilience. By bundling all material demands, the collaboration seeks to reduce waste and eliminate unnecessary stockpiling, thereby enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

Commenting on the contract, Billy Kingsbury, CEO at thyssenkrupp Materials UK and leading the Aerospace division in India, said: “We are pleased to continue this strategic partnership with Dynamatic Technologies for the A220 program. Our extensive experience and deep understanding of supply chain management, combined with our robust local infrastructure, position us ideally to support Dynamatic Technologies' ambitious growth plans in India. This collaboration not only strengthens our market presence but also reaffirms our commitment to supporting the aerospace sector with innovative and efficient supply chain solutions.”

Commenting on the contract, Udayant Malhoutra, CEO & Managing Director at Dynamatic Technologies Limited said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with thyssenkrupp Aerospace for the Airbus A220 program. This collaboration brings together the strengths of both Dynamatic Technologies and thyssenkrupp Aerospace, each known for their excellence in their respective fields. thyssenkrupp Aerospace is an integral part of our on-time delivery and delivery assurance model, to satisfy our customers’ requirements, already being a strategic 3PL partner for the A330 Program.
